Frequently Asked Questions

Services

What kind of projects do you take on?
Basement finishing, bathrooms remodeling, kitchen remodeling, flooring, drywall and paint, doors and trim, decks and porches, light plumbing and electrical, handyman punch lists, small exterior repairs, and more. If we are not the best fit, we will tell you and point you in the right direction.

Do you do design or just build?
Both. We can work from your plans, or we can help with layout ideas, material selections, and 3D visualizations when helpful.

Do you handle specialty trades?
Yes. We self‑perform where it makes sense and use licensed trade partners for items like full electrical service work, HVAC, and large plumbing changes.

Do you offer emergency repairs?
Limited availability for urgent leaks, storm damage, and safety issues. Call or text for fastest response.

Estimates & Pricing

Are estimates really free?

Can I get an itemized quote?
Absolutely. We can break out labor, materials, and major options so you can make clear decisions.

Do you price fixed‑bid or time‑and‑materials?
Most projects are fixed price with a clear scope. Small service calls can be time‑and‑materials with a minimum charge.

Yes. We carry general liability. Insurance certificates are available upon request.

Do you handle permits and inspections?
Yes. We submit permit applications, coordinate inspections, and include fees in your proposal unless you prefer otherwise.

Can you work in my township?
Yes. We register with local municipalities as needed. Where a specific trade license is required, we pull permits through the appropriate licensed partner.

Scheduling & Project Management

How soon can you start?
Lead times vary by season and scope. We will give you a realistic start window in your proposal.

How long will my project take?
We provide an estimated timeline with milestones in your contract (target start window + approximate duration). If scope, permitting, or material availability changes, we’ll update you and adjust the schedule together.

Who will be at my home?
A dedicated lead or the owner will oversee the work. You will have one point of contact throughout.

How do you communicate updates?
Text, phone, or email, your choice. We send quick updates at key milestones and if anything changes.

During the Job

How do you protect my home?
We set clean work zones, use drop cloths and dust control, and tidy up daily.

Do I need to be home?
Not always. Many clients provide access via lockbox or smart lock. We treat your home with care.

Can I supply my own fixtures or materials?
Yes, as long as they meet code and schedule. We can also source and deliver everything for you.

What happens if we discover a hidden issue?
We will pause, show you the finding, propose solutions with pricing, and only proceed with your written approval.

Warranty & Aftercare

What is your warranty?
One‑year craftsmanship warranty on our work unless stated otherwise, plus manufacturer warranties on materials.

How do I request warranty service?
